Long-Term Running Goals:
Stay healthy, make steady incremental improvements, eventually get under 1:10 in the half marathon and 2:30 in the marathon.
I am a bioengineering PhD currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah, where I design neurosurgical approaches for treating movement disorders. I was sort of fast until I put running on the back burner at the end of grad school and am trying to get sort of fast again now.
24 laps on the U of U track with barriers forcing people into lane 4 for half of the track. Estimating that I averaged about on the edge between 2 and 3 (cut in on the bends when possible), it would be 6. 2 instead of a hair under 6. 7:10 AP.
