Feb 24 - Phoenix Marathon - Goal of sub-2:40 - Result: 2:39:39

April 7 - Emigration 10 - Goal of getting in a good workout while getting back into things after Phoenix

May 27 - Stillwater Half Marathon (MN) - Goal of 1:13:59

September 16 - Berlin Marathon - Goal of sub-2:34:59

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy, make improvements, eventually get under 1:10 in the half marathon and 2:30 in the marathon.

Personal:

I am a bioengineering PhD currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah, where I design neurosurgical approaches for treating movement disorders.


I'm lazy about copying over from Strava, so find me over there in the mean time. Training is going well and I'm keeping the mileage slightly lower for a marathon build in the interest of consistency and really high-quality workouts.

Off season has been good and lazy. :) First run in a few days... Treadmill... First3 @ 6:00 flat, 4th in 5:49, 5th in 5:14. Overall, definitely harder than it would be if I were in shape. :)

Early PM: Ski day #46 of the year.  All I ski lately is stuff off of the Cirque.  It's pretty awesome.

 

Later PM: 6 miles, longest run in 3 weeks!  Hah!  Did the first few at trail marathon effort, but rolled my ankle on a rocky section at about 3.5 miles (badly enough that I had to sit and stretch it for 10 minutes) , so I just kind of ran easy from there.  7:59 average pace for what happened to be exactly 6.00 miles.
