Build up enough base to not embarass myself too badly at the 2017 Bear 100
Long-Term Running Goals:
Stay healthy, make improvements, eventually get under 1:10 in the half marathon and 2:30 in the marathon.
I am a bioengineering PhD currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah, where I design neurosurgical approaches for treating movement disorders. I was sort of fast until I put running on the back burner at the end of grad school and am trying to get sort of fast again now.
Long, easy, mountain run with Lara. 4200' gain. Felt good until about 19, when dusty air got the best of my lungs. Last climb was terrible, as was last descent. Threw up afterwards from all the coughing. Need to be smarter with my inhaler.
