Feb 24 - Phoenix Marathon - Goal of sub-2:40 - Result: 2:39:39

April 7 - Emigration 10 - Goal of getting in a good workout while getting back into things after Phoenix

May 27 - Stillwater Half Marathon (MN) - Goal of 1:13:59

September 16 - Berlin Marathon - Goal of sub-2:34:59

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy, make improvements, eventually get under 1:10 in the half marathon and 2:30 in the marathon.

Personal:

I am a bioengineering PhD currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah, where I design neurosurgical approaches for treating movement disorders.


I'm lazy about copying over from Strava, so find me over there in the mean time. Training is going well and I'm keeping the mileage slightly lower for a marathon build in the interest of consistency and really high-quality workouts.

New PR. Thanks Sasha for dumping water on me at mile 24. Executed pretty well today and didn't puke when I started to feel the stomach going, and did a lot right after finishing. Good timing. :) Splits wete 1:18:37 / 1:20:13, so a little slowdown, but closer to even than I've been in the last couple. Garmin was 26.57, but 2 miles were 10-20 seconds fast. I certainly ran some extra stupidly following a few guys not running tangents well. Excited to see whether I can run faster than Sasha's suggestion that my equivalent at Berlin would be 2:36, maybe 2:35.
